A film about the life of lawyer Fritz Bauer, who held the post of prosecutor general in post-war Germany. As a man who survived several months of imprisonment in a concentration camp, in the post-war period he did everything possible to ensure that none of the Nazi criminals escaped from responsibility. West Germany in the late 1950s dreamed of economic prosperity and did not want to touch its Nazi past. A fearless idealist, Bauer, who was not afraid to confront the entire system, became the main driving force behind the legal prosecution of the executioners of the Nazi regime
