Central America, 1540. Difficult passage through jungles, rivers and swamps. Exhausted by rain, heat, humidity and fever, the Spanish deserters persevere through lands inhabited by wild animals and hostile aborigines and cannibals, with whom they have to fight at every turn, in brutal sieges and ceaseless skirmishes, in pursuit of one thing - gold. They know they are being pursued because they have heard that the royal governor has sent another group of soldiers after them to capture or kill them in the name of the Emperor. So the only hope of the rebels is to move forward to the goal, because for gold they will be forgiven everything. At the same time, mutual hatred also becomes an obstacle.
