Utah and Opal are drug addicts living on the streets of rural Ohio until a seemingly chance encounter with the mysterious Wood brings them to Los Angeles for drug addiction treatment. Yuta seems to find sobriety with the help of a therapist, Dr. White, and a technique that has attracted a love interest in May. They soon learn that drug addiction treatment is just a front for a predatory business that recruits addicts to recruit other addicts.
