Ivan Dzyuba is a literary critic, publicist and "flag of the Ukrainian sixties". Lina Kostenko remembers him as a person who always had the courage to speak the truth. The initiator of the famous protest action against the mass arrests of Ukrainian intellectuals at the premiere of "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" Serhiy Paradzhanov, together with Vasyl Stus and Vyacheslav Chornovol, and the author of the iconic book "Internationalism or Russification?" could not fail to attract the close attention of the KGB authorities. Through all the anxieties and repressions connected with the activities of the dissident, his wife Marta went side by side with him. They lived together for 62 years. "Ivan and Marta" is a tender story of their relationship and Ivan's active public position, told by his wife, who was his reliable support and love of his life until the end.
