Retired soldier Ludwig Kalen arrives in 1755 to the barren desert of Jutland to conquer the wild lands by royal order, gaining wealth and honor for himself. Very quickly, Kalen makes a ruthless enemy - the local landowner Frederic de Chinkel, who considers himself, and not the king, the sole ruler and owner of these lands. And he does everything to not just expel Kalen, but also to take brutal revenge. Kalen does not bow down, but stubbornly enters into an unequal battle, and now he risks not only his own life, but also the people dear to him...
